The Pre-Marriage Course

the pre-marriage course

The Pre-Marriage Course is a series of five sessions to help engaged couples or those exploring the possibility of marriage, to build strong foundations for their future together.

Who is it for?

The Pre-Marriage Course is for couples planning or considering marriage who want to give their marriage the best possible start. The course is based on Christian principles but is designed for all couples with or without a church background. You do not need to be getting married in a church to join the course.

What can we expect?

Each session is like the perfect date night! We encourage couples to begin each session eating together to give a chance for you to unwind and connect before the session’s episode; followed by a practical talk and breaks for discussions. This is a chance for you and your partner to have private conversations openly and honestly. Before the Pre-Marriage Course you'll have the chance to complete a Couples Survey by email. This isn't a compatibility test - it's a way to affirm strengths in your relationship and identify issues it would be helpful to discuss before your marriage.

What will we be talking about?

5 episodes of the Pre-Marriage Course:

  • Communication

  • Conflict

  • Commitment

  • Connection

  • Adventure

The Couple Survey
We send all couples registered on the course a questionnaire called the Couple Survey. The Couple Survey is completed online. The questionnaire will help you identify and recognise topics to discuss as a couple prior to marriage. If you would like to discuss the full report, and the relevant points raised, we will work with you to find a suitable Support Couple who will connect with you via Skype, FaceTime or Zoom. Since training is required to interpret the results, we will not pass a copy of the full report to you directly. We will email you details of the questionnaire before the start of the course (if you register later than this, there will be a delay in receiving the survey).
