What is FOCUS Communities?
Focus Communities is not one large church retreat or camp. nstead, Focus Communities is a church-wide season where existing Connect Groups, ministry teams, and communities gather across different weekends to deepen relationships, build belonging, and stay connected to the wider life and vision of HTBB.
Community
Deepening relationships within our existing groups and teams.
Connection
Helping smaller communities stay connected to the bigger vision and life of the church.
Why are we doing this?
Last year, Focus was about making a big church feel smaller.
This year, Focus Communities is about helping smaller communities feel connected to a bigger church.
At the heart of Focus Communities is a desire for church to feel more personal, connected, and intentional. Rather than one large gathering, this season creates space for smaller communities across HTBB to journey together in meaningful ways.
Through this season, we hope people would grow deeper in relationship, feel more connected within their teams and Connect Groups, and experience a stronger sense of belonging within the wider life of the church.
Who is this for?
Focus Communities is designed for Connect Groups, teams, and communities across HTBB, creating space for communities to gather, deepen relationships, and journey together intentionally throughout the season.
If you're not currently part of a Connect Group or team, we'd love to help you get connected into community ahead of Focus Communities.
How does it work?
Throughout the Focus Communities season, Connect Groups, ministry teams, and communities across HTBB will gather on different weekends between August and October 2026 for their own Focus Communities experience.
Each community will journey through the season in their own way, while being supported with shared resources, vision content, and guides designed to help conversations and connections happen meaningfully.
More details and resources will be released closer to the season launch.
