Key Areas We Serve In

  • Once a month on every 3rd Saturday, we help to send food packs to 150 families in various communities: including (refugees?) from Myanmar, Pakistan, local families at Loke Yew Flats, the Senior Home in Sekinchan, as well as students at Sekolah Menengah and Sekolah Rendah Pudu.

Packing is done in the church premises and delivery is handled by our volunteers. These essential supplies help provide for the needs of families facing hardship, ensuring that they feel supported and cared for in difficult times.

  • We partner with a diverse group of local businesses through our food rescue initiative.

These include local bakeries like Rainbow Bread, Lavender Bakery, Secret Recipe, Breadstory, and Komugi - from which we pick up surplus bread loaves - as well as businesses such as Ben’s International Grocer at IPC, Kentucky Fried Chicken at Pavilion Mall, and The Westin Hotel at Bukit Bintang.

We are also partnering with the Lost Food Project to receive dry food items, fresh fruits and vegetables, and frozen meat products, as part of the weekly package. - [please confirm]

We rescue quality, nutritious surplus food that would otherwise end up in landfill and redistribute it to those who need it most. Together, we work to reduce food waste by collecting surplus food, and ensuring that it reaches families and individuals in need.

  • We support three refugee schools by providing a simple breakfast — a slice of bread and a glass of milk — five times a week. This initiative helps ensure that children start their day with the nourishment they need, at a cost of RM400 per month.

  • Each Wednesday, we provide 278 meals to 5 schools, serving a simple yet nourishing lunch of chicken or tuna sandwiches. With the help of 14-16 volunteers, we ensure that the children receive a wholesome lunch to brighten their day.

  • We offer a 6-month Computer Literacy course for beginners, designed for students from two local schools. These classes run every Monday from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at HTBB, providing essential digital skills to help the students grow in their educational journey.

  • We offer online tuition classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - providing students with the support they need to excel in their studies from the comfort of their homes.

  • Outreach Program for the Children's community at Hiichiikok Home for Children

    • Every Sunday, from 9:00 to 11:00am at HTBB, we engage with the local and Orang Asli children communities from the Hiichiikok Foundation Home.

    • Through this outreach, we offer support and provide a safe, nurturing environment where we hope the children can learn, grow, and feel cared for.

Outreach Program for the Youths of Bukit Bintang Community Centre

    • Twice a month - on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays - we gather at HTBB with 20 dedicated volunteers to engage 120 children in a day full of fun and learning.

    • We offer six diverse workshops for children and teens from Bukit Bintang Community Centre: including Sports & Games, Arts & Crafts, Bakery Class, Youth Workshop, Youth Computer Class, and Guitar Class.

    • This initiative provides a safe and enriching environment for the youth, giving them the opportunity to explore new skills, build confidence, and create lasting memories.

  • As part of our Mother’s Day Project 2025, we held a crocheting class for Myanmarese mothers through the Lametna Project - a community initiative by Gordian Consultancy and St Mary's Agape Mission School to support Chin refugees in the Klang Valley, Malaysia.

This provided them with a space to showcase their skills, and the beautiful flower crochets created during the class were then promoted and sold at the church for Mother’s Day on 11th May 2025, supporting the mothers’ creative efforts.

  • Over the years, our Social Action Christmas events have brought together an average of 40 volunteers and 500 guests each year, spanning from 2019 through 2024. These events have become a meaningful tradition of community outreach, filled with joy and support for those in need during the festive season.

What we’ve been doing

Since 2019, the Food Bank has distributed 17,370 foodpacks, each costing an average of RM80.

By June 2025, the total value of these food packs have reached nearly RM1.4 million.
