Meet The Team
Wendy Liew
Wendy is the Worship Pastor of Holy Trinity Bukit Bintang Church and co-leads the Creative Department.
Born and raised in Malaysia, Wendy grew up learning the Electronic Organ and Vocal, then later on pursued music professionally in Shanghai Conservatory of Music, majoring in Liu-Qin and Ruan. She encountered Jesus during her stay in Shanghai, and has since decided to use her musical gifts to draw people into worshipping God.
Wendy is not only passionate about worship, but also passionate to equip and build an army of worshippers. A multi-instrumentalist and multilingual, she’s able to understand and grasp the different styles and cultures of worship across the world, as well as to create a bridge to translate the heart of worship expressed from one language to another. Other than beautifully translated and covered songs like “Living Hope” and “The Blessing”, Wendy has also written and released songs like “Come and Worship” (from HTBB’s Mandarin Christmas EP) and “Open Heaven” (originally written in Mandarin, and was released in both Mandarin and English version).
Leon Jala
Leon serves as a worship leader at HTBB Church where is also the Director of Content & Co-head of Creative alongside Wendy Liew.
Part of the pioneering core volunteer team at HTBB, Leon started on the sound team, before eventually serving as an electric guitarist and then a worship leader for the last 9 years.
With a background in advertising, Leon is passionate about using creativity to point to Jesus and inspire other leaders in the process.

Some of the songs Phoebe has helped to translate into Mandarin include “The Blessing”. She also co-wrote the song “Come and Worship” from HTBB’s Mandarin Christmas EP.
Phoebe is a proud owner (a.k.a. butler) of two cats, Snowy and Remy.
Sara Tucker
As the lead backing vocalist at HTBB, Sara brings years of expertise and an enthusiasm to her teaching practice. Sara's musical journey began in her teens when she discovered her voice as a worship leader. Through leading congregations in song, she not only honed her vocal skills but also deepened her understanding of the profound connection between music and her Christian faith.
Her teaching approach combines technical precision and practical skills with artistic expression, equipping students with the tools they need to succeed in both their musical and ministry endeavours. She understands that singing is not just about hitting the right notes but also about paving the way for vocalists and congregations to deepen their encounter with God.
Sara has lived in Malaysia for almost 10 years and is married to Kevin and has two children, Hannah and Aiden. In addition to her love for singing, she loves to explore the beauty of South East Asia and its numerous cuisines.
